Menstrual cramps, also known as dysmenorrhea or menstrual pains are periods in which a woman has crampy lower abdominal pain. I have been suffering the menstrual pains since my early teens, from slight discomfort to severe pain. :(
My menstrual pain normally lasts for about 24hours and the pain is usually at its worst on the first day of menstruation. This menstrual pain causes me absent from work, events , school (during school time) and other activities.
I have tried numerous remedies such:
  • eating dark chocolate
  • drinking warm water
  • reduce caffeine intake by not drinking my favourite coffee
  • increase calcium intake by drinking milk
and others. All these remedies didn't really help to reduce the pain. I even take pain killer to reduce the pain if the first day of menstruation during my school and uni exams.

Last month, I was introduced to a new product ~ AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO Heat Patch for Menstrual Pain
The AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO Heat Patch for Menstrual Pain is a new product from Kobayashi Pharmaceutical, one of the major pharmaceutical company in Japan established in 19th century running their business for over 120 years.
This new product is the right product for people who are suffering from menstrual pain but cannot find the appropriate remedy for it.
The AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO Heat Patch for Menstrual Pain comes in a box with 2 patches with a price of RM10.90. Each patch is packed individually. The product features are:
  • Reduce menstrual pain symptoms by non-medicinal heat therapy.
  • Ready to use. Stick directly on skin. It can be used during office working hours.
  • Provide stable and safe temperature (40°C) up to 8 hours
  • Odorless so that it can be used in any occasion

The AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO Heat Patch for Menstrual Pain comes in a small size with the measurement: 14cm x 7cm. It is odorless and I can use it during my work and attending events. 
The ingredients for the  AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO Heat Patch for Menstrual Pain are Iron Powder, Water, Activated Carbon, vermiculite, salt, super absorbent polymer.

 How does this heat patch works?
Heat therapy targets pain at its root cause as it helps improve blood circulation. By warming the affected area, the volume of blood flow increases and it produces vasodilation, which increases the supply of oxygen and removal of metabolic waste, leading to better healing and reduced pain.

I have been using this product since February and it is effective to relieve my menstrual pain. This heat patch provides heat therapy which can improve blood circulation and reduce my menstrual pain symptoms. It has a safe temperature which is 40°C and warming effect last for 8 hours. Moreover, it is convenient, effective, safe and non-medicinal. :)
Direction for use:
1.) Before I apply the  AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO Heat Patch for Menstrual Pain on my targeted area, I make sure the my skin is dry and clean. 
2.) I open the sachet to take out the heat patch.

 
3.) I gently peel away the protective film on the back of the heat patch.
4.) Apply adhesive side of the heat patch to the skin over the painful area.
5.) After use, slowly peel off the heat patch. Do not use the product for more than 8 hours in a day. Each patch is for single use.

During the application of the AMMELTZ YOKO YOKO Heat Patch for Menstrual Pain, the painful area feeling warm and it helps to relieve my menstrual pain. I used in the morning before leaving my house to work. I also carry another pack of heat patch in my handbag during my menstruation. It is small, thin and odorless. Nobody notice I'm using the heat patch when I attending events. :) I'll recommend this product to my girl friends and my female reader. Keeping Me Energized ~ Malta

Running is my hobby and I started with a short distance run, 7km and slowly (after about 1.5 years) I'm able to run a full marathon.When I decided to run a full marathon (42.195 km or 26 miles) in October 2013, I started to plan my training. 
 
I was lucky as my running group and my running buddies helped me with my training plan. Just to summarize it, my training plan was consist of five different components:
1.) Speed Work - This training helps to build stronger muscles and to improve my running efficiency.
2) Hill  Repeats - This training helps to increase my leg strength.
3.) LSD (long, slow, distance run) - The LSD run is very important in marathon running as it helps my body to adapt to running for a long period of time. Furthermore, it trains my metabolism to use body fat as a source of energy while I'm running for long period.
4.) Tempo Run - race pace run which is  I run at my target race pace
5.) Recovery Run - It helps my body to recover and to clear the lactic acid out of the muscles.
In between my training, I also joined some races to test speed and performance. I'm glad that the training plan works well. ^-^
After my running, I'm exhausted.

The Malaysia Women Marathon 2014 : Dream, Believe and Become.

Another 28 days will be the Malaysia Women Marathon 2014.
The theme for MWM 2014 is  
 Dream, Believe and Become.   
I still remember the day I joined this 1st women marathon in Malaysia was last year, 7th April 2013. I was still a newbie in running. I joined the 8km run and I was lucky to be the top 30 and brought back the limited finisher pendant.
For this year, the MWM is back on 16th March 2014 in Shah Alam!
 
MWM, the  1st women marathon  from South Asia to New Zealand.  It is the event  where women come together to encourage one another to go the distance and know they can run the marathon because simply, they can.   
I'll be running my very 1st full marathon in MWM 2014
The MWM is the marathon where you can meet a woman running legend and be inspired. It's the run where women know they can because there is no stopping them.  It’s where you want to be to finish the run with your “sole sisters”.  
Proudly presented by Tourism Selangor and with IGM Sdn Bhd, MWM 2014 is not just any other run,  it has a 3 day program.  This event will be held in Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan  with the support from Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam and endorsed by various Selangor State excos such as the Exco of Tourism,  Exco of Youth and Sports, Exco of Women Affairs and Welfare; and lastly the Exco of Health and Entrepreneurship.
 
It will start of with a women dialogue session for the first day,  workshops for the second from various group and even our sponsors . The run is the penultimate of the event. The concept of the Malaysia Women Marathon is to invite a running legend to grace the event, be keynote speaker and inspire with their life achievement stories.   Thus MWM  focuses on delivering motivation and guidance for development  whether physically or psychologically.  MWM is meant  to create the opportunity for women to grow their confidence and self- esteem via sport or more active lifestyle from running. 
For MWM 2014,  the focus on the women dialogue session is not merely on running. MWM has invited top notch women corporate profiles and activist on women movement to be panel speaker.
MWM 2014 workshops will be conducted by Catherine Nderaba, 4 times Boston marathon champion and 2 times world champion.  She hails from Kenya. Her journey into being a world champion came with a powerful story of her being a mother first and how she had balance all that is needed in life and surpass the obstacles emerging as a champion, not once but multiple time.  Couple on the Run will return to speak about Partnerunning and we will have several top notch runners from Australia representing Skir Sports.
MWM created history last year to give Malaysia its first women marathon.  This year MWM encourages the ladies to run better as this is the marathon for all women do better than you can truly be.  For if one does not start somewhere,  they will never arrive.
