PUMA Faas Beats Campaign 2012

PUMA Faas campaign blends science and technology of running with music to bring joy in a fun running game!
Through the “PUMA Faastest” campaign last year which gave the fastest amateur runner an opportunity to meet and run with world number one sprinter Usain Bolt, PUMA’s latest FAAS campaign is back to bring joy to consumers through fun running competition. Simply entitled, FAAS BEATS, with a tagline, ‘Run at the speed of Bolt’, the latest campaign combines the science and technology of Jamaican world number one runner, Usain Bolt’s speed with music bringing the joy of running to consumers the world over.
Using the social stratosphere as a tool to drive participation for the app, the FAAS BEATS app is housed on the PUMA Running Facebook page. All consumers need to do is to ‘like’ the PUMA Running Facebook page (, click on the FAAS BEATS tab and play. Consumers are required to select a pair of shoes from PUMA FAAS’ colourful Spring/Summer 2012 collection, followed by a song (from the list provided) to run to, and basically ‘sprint’ on the vinyl record by pressing the A and D keys (for left-handers) or <- and -> for those who are right-handed.
Consumers are given a total of 3 seconds to warm up before the game, and the overall objective is to keep up to the rhythm of the song they’ve chosen as much as possible. There are a total of 3 levels – each more difficult than the other – that they will need to endure before they are awarded an overall combined score. Scores from all players in Malaysia will be placed onto a Leader board; therefore, consumers can continue to improve their scores in order to emerge winners each week. The top three (3) consumers with the highest scores each week will win themselves a mystery gift.
 “PUMA advocates fun in everything it does, and the FAAS BEATS competition is no different. We wanted to inculcate the importance of leading a healthy, balanced lifestyle through running, but we didn’t want to appear preachy about it. The game is meant to bring joy of running to consumers in a fun and interactive way; at the same time, it is a way for us to highlight the new FAAS range in way that is complementary to the game,” says Sheryl Wong, General Manager of PUMA Malaysia and Singapore.
To further promote the FAAS BEATS  app, a series of road shows will take place in key market centre throughout the month of April and May:  
  • Queensbay Mall, Penang (6th, 7th and 8th April)
  •  Aeon Tebrau City Mall, Johor Bahru (13th, 14thth April) and 15
  • The finale, at Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur (4th, 5th and 6th May).  
At the on-ground events, consumers will be involved in fun activities such as Running On A Giant Interactive Phone”, where consumers will play games such as Dancing, Musical chair or Dodge ball; “Faas Kinect Sprint Station”; and the “Online FAAS BEATS Game Live”, where they will battle it out to win attractive PUMA FAAS merchandise.
Consumers will be required to take part in at least three activities and share their amazing results on their Facebook page before being rewarded. Upon completion of all three activities, consumers will be given a FAAS BEATS voucher which they can redeem at any PUMA store to get a rebate of RM20 on PUMA FAAS footwear, and also receive a mystery gift – a FAAS Tee worth RM119 each.
