Bosch Electro-Voice Experience Day

Not too long ago, I was invited to attend Bosch Electro-Voice Experience Day @ Sime Darby Convention Centre. Sime Darby Convention Centre came alive with sound on that day, as Bosch expanded its Electro-Voice (EV) series of premium level products with the introduction of the RE320 and R300 microphones and Live X Speakers.

It was an evening fill with awesome Electro-Voice sound system and great performances by local celebrities showcase the latest Electro-Voice range of products by Bosch.  

Opening dance by the animated dance troupe, Katoon Network, winner of Astro Battleground 2009.  Their unique dance moves with comedic sketches together with the great Electro-Voice sound system gave audiences an exhilarating performance.

Welcome note by the emcee, Terrence. 

Welcome speech by Mr Randy Tee, General Manager, Security Systems of Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In his speech, he stated “We wanted to showcase these top-of-the-range sound systems in a practical manner. There’s no better way to exemplify these products than through some of the very people who regularly uses them. The Electro-Voice range is exactly what artists should be utilizing to maximize every performance, with sonic detail that will leave a glowing lasting impression.”

Mr Robert Tason, Electro-Voice Sales Manager, Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. was invited for Electro-Voice products presentation.

Mr Robert Tason started the presentation with Electro-Voice history and follow by the introduction  of the RE320 and R300 microphones and Live X Speakers. 

The RE320 microphone’s Dual Personality and greater high frequency detail make it versatile for use both in the studio and on stage.  

The R300 is a state-of-the-art wireless microphone worthy of a world tour performance, offered at an unprecedented price.  

The stunning Live X speakers are lightweight and durable, setting new standards for portable sound. Like their predecessors from the EV series, they provide entertainers with exceptional audio quality and professional grade performance.

A stellar line-up of performers consisting of Chelsia Ng, Katoon Network, Martin Ngim and his band - The Red Quartet, DJ Irwan and Mr.C spiced up the stage with their exceptional display of talent, as their rhythm and beats pulsated through the EV sound system.

The first performer was Chelsia Ng. This event was momentous for Chelsia, as it was the first time that she performed her single, Not A Lie,  live in public since its release on 9 September 2011. Chelsia presented to us 2 songs and she loves the Electro-Voice microphones! She gave a great performance with the superior sound quality of Electro-Voice loudspeakers.

Beatboxer, See Khai Shen, known by his stage name Mr.C was one of the performer for that evening. He has fostered his beatboxing talent from a young age. This promising young performer recently won himself a top 3 position, out of hundreds of competitors, in the nationwide U-Online competition.

Performance by the Drummer extraordinaire, Martin Ngim. Marin Ngim regularly takes the stage with local jazz bands and has performed/recorded with various jazz and non-jazz artistes. Martin is also the first Malaysian endorsee of the world-renowned German brand, SONOR drums.

The Red Quartet also brought to us a great performance on that evening. The Red Quartet is a collective of musical talents bringing fresh, new perspectives and interpretations of music with funky, foot-thumping grooves.

It was an awesome event and it was like a mini concert in the Sime Darby Convention Centre!

The Electro-Voice sound system used during today’s showcase consisted of the following:

•  Microphones – PL Series, N/Dym Series, RE Performance Series, Cardinal and Raven, RE Broadcast Series, RE-2, RE-2 PRO, REV and R300 Wireless Series.
• Speakers and Electronics – Live X Series, Tour X Series, X-Line and XLC Series, EVF Series, ZX and EVID Series, Q Series.

Dennis Lau, Malaysia famous violinist was there to support his celebrity friend, Chelsia Ng for her first performed Not A Lie single live in public.
