Terengganu Rip Curl Pro Surf 2012 @ Batu Burok Beach, Kuala Terengganu

Yes,  the Terengganu Rip Curl Pro Surf Contest 2012 is set to hit Monsoon Season which will be held November 30th till December 2nd at the coastal of Pantai Batu Burok, Kuala Terengganu. This up-coming first ever 6-star pro surf contest is brought to us by the renowned Australia surf brand, Rip Curl (Malaysia) partnership with the State Government of Terengganu. 
In the recent press conference, Rip Curl (Malaysia) announced today that the brand had signed off an official 1-year Official Rip Curl Malaysia Riders deal with two top Malaysian surfers – Bryan Ng and Brenda Lee.

The Terengganu Rip Curl Pro surf contest 2012 is a surf event sanctioned by the Asian Surfing Championship (ASC). During this 3-days 6-star pro event, surfers hails from different regions of South East Asia are expected to compete in five different divisions:
1) Men’s Open
2) Women’s Open
3) Master Division
4) Bodyboard Open
5)Longboard Open. 
There are total estimated over RM 40,000 worth of prizes up for grabs for the participant’s surfers.

Brenda being the top lady surfer in Malaysia, while, Bryan being the president for Malaysia surfing association & Terengganu surfing community their list of credentials, achievements along with their contribution to the local surfing scene making them an asset to the brand.
Rip Curl Malaysia sees there are a lots of potential and strongly believes that both top surfers could grow together with the brand in terms of reaching out to the ladies target audience and educating the female on what is surfing is all about, growing the local surfing community, providing a great opportunity to all Malaysian and serving as platform to anyone’s who is willing to give surfing a go and up scaling the surfing sports in our country.
"The first 6-star pro surf event coming up this year is an evident that we are progressing on the right track” Vivian Chew, Assistant General Manager of Rip Curl Malaysia explained why the brand had chosen both top Malaysian surfers as the official riders and the brand development alongside with the surfers.
Besides the adrenalin rush competition, there will be several fun-filled yet educational activities had been planned for the public with the aim to educate people from all walks of life about surfing activities.
  • Indonesia top surfboard artists, Mr. Rizald from Bali will be the guest artists for the Surfboard Art Exhibition.  
  • Also, there will be a booth with live demonstration of the overall actual process on making a surfboard. 
  • A surf clinic will be set-up for public to experience and learn how to surf. Jonni Morrison – Deaker, from the Rip Curl Bali Surf School, will conduct the surf clinic. 
Besides, Rip Curl Malaysia also renewing the official rider contracts for 17-year old young surfer from Cherating, Mohd. Suhaimi (Semmy).
 
Throughout the International surf event, Rip Curl sets to craft Malaysia as one of the surfing destination amongst the professional surfers from different regions and also to attract more people to experience surfing. Most importantly it will provide local Malaysian surfers an opportunity to gain experience in competing at an International level.  
The Terengganu Rip Curl Pro 2012 is organized by EC Extreme Resources supported by S.U.K Terengganu, Tourism Malaysia, Ministry of Tourism Terengganu and Rip Curl Bali Surf School.
